BAKER BAKER

A highlight of the school calendar, for most children, is the day they are selected to be 'Baker Baker'. That's when they get to bake delicious treats for their classmates. Teachers might give them a theme based on what they have been learning.
BIRTHDAYS

Children love their birthday! It is an exciting passage of time, which they eagerly celebrate. If you would like a birthday ring during school hours please plan with your class teacher well in advance, so that we can accommodate the event into the daily programme. Parents are encouraged to join us for the birthday ring!
BOOK DONATIONS

We celebrate a Beehive school tradition by donating a book to a growing school library in honour of your child's birthday. A new book is gifted to the school at the birthday ring.
OUTINGS

We arrange one outing to a place of interest during the course of the year, specifically catering to each group age range for enjoyment, fun and learning. Parents are requested to accompany their child during the outing and to pay the related costs. We also invited interactive fun learning groups to visit our school.
EVENTS

Beehive Montessori does not do fundraising events, rather we focus our efforts on whole school activities that promote the health, well-being and learning of all students. Creating opportunities for our students, their families and the community to come together. We have an annual maintenance levy in lieu of fundraising.

A variety of activities are held throughout the year, from Valentine’s Day, The Great Easter Egg Hunt to Spring Flower Fun and many more! There is always lots of fun to be had by all.

Our main events are: Mother’s Day Picnic, Grandparents Tea and Father’s Day Scavenger Hunt. These activities are run on a three-year cycle in conjunction with the annual school concert and graduation ceremony.

We also host one sporting event per year either a Big Walk or Family Fun Day. These events are purely for fun!

EXTRA MURALS

As part of our development programme, we offer a variety of optional extra mural activities. These services are charged separately by the respective organisations and are conducted on the school grounds.

The following activities are available for children to attend:

• Ballet
• Playball
• Monkeynastix
• Junior Builder
• Karate
• Shongololo Shakers
• Abagility
• Gymnastics

In the beginning of each year a free trial lesson is held for each activity, so that students have the opportunity to try out and decide what they enjoy before signing up.

All Extra Murals must be paid by EFT to the respective teachers. We do not accept fees on their behalf.

AFTER CARE

The Beehive Montessori Preschool offers an after-care programme for your convenience. This is run by our teachers as a separate enterprise, which starts at 12:15 and runs until 16:00.
