CLASSES
Play Group

The Honeybees playgroup is home to our youngest students aged 18 months to 3 years and has an atmosphere of nurturing warmth that promotes happiness and play. The children love coming to school and form special friendships here. They feel safe and most importantly loved. A sense of security is created by the daily rhythm.
Time spent in the classroom is balanced with creative and free play outside in the greater school grounds. Children spend their time here engrossed in a rich world of play and discovery: riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, tending plants, caring for animals, digging in the sandpit, playing on the jungle gym and much more.
Great care is taken to provide the most suitable environment to support the healthy growth and development of our little people. The most essential aspect of working with these little children is the inner attitude of the educator who provides the example for the child’s imitation. Shea Cunningham has been our playgroup teacher for 5 years now and is a caring, loving teacher worthy of imitation.
Preschool Group

Our 3 to 5 year olds begin their journey into Montessori education in earnest. We have a hands-on approach to learning where the children work with specially designed Montessori equipment. They explore the curriculum through their senses of touch and motion, by observing, manipulating and investigating the materials until they have mastered the skill.
These children go through an intense period of change from growth spurts to the transition to co-operative play and more complex social interactions, to name a few. Our teachers use the Montessori method to respond to these changes in social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
As the children grow so the materials grow with them to support their emerging capabilities. The holistic approach and stimulating environment ensures that your child will have a well-established basis from which to develop their confidence and independence while laying an excellent foundation for further learning in life.
Readiness Group

Our school readiness programme has been specially formulated to develop the appropriate skills required to start ‘big’ school. While many people think of academics (e.g.: counting to 20, identifying colours, writing own name etc.) as the important skills, our school readiness actually refers to a much broader range of skills. In addition to the academic competence, school readiness skills also include self-care, attention, concentration, physical skills and emotional regulation as well as play and social skills.

We have a gentle approach to learning that is structured to ensure maximum exposure to all the necessary developmental areas, while having fun. One of the highlights of our curriculum is the ‘Around the World Journey’.

We sow the seeds of History, Geography, Science, Maths, Biology, Art, Music , Literacy and Culture in this interactive programme. We ‘board’ Beehive Airways and take weekly imaginative trips to new locations around the world. We discover famous places, famous people, amazing animals and international cuisines during the experience.
